Customer Background
Junan County Xinan Light Steel Machinery Equipment Co., Ltd. is a small enterprise specializing in the automotive parts sector, employing 10-50 staff members. The company primarily manufactures aluminum floor panels for refrigerated trucks, where welding quality directly impacts the vehicle’s low-temperature insulation performance. Consequently, the customer consulted KPS regarding an aluminum laser welding machine.

Customer Challenges and Requirements
During previous production processes, Xian’an Light Steel primarily used traditional welding equipment for aluminum floor panel welding, encountering several critical pain points requiring urgent solutions.
Traditional equipment lacked precise control over weld bead width, resulting in poor weld seam sealing performance that failed to meet the core low-temperature insulation requirements for refrigerated trucks.
Significant thermal deformation occurred during welding, necessitating secondary grinding post-weld, severely impacting production efficiency.
To overcome these challenges, Xian Steel urgently required a highly efficient, stable solution capable of precisely controlling weld width and adapting to thin aluminum alloy sheet welding.
Solution
Based on Xian’an Light Steel’s specific requirements, the Kempson team customized the KPS-LHW2000 water-cooled laser welding machine for thin sheets. Equipped with a 2000W laser power, this device achieves corner welding on aluminum alloys up to 4.5mm thick, fully meeting Xian’an Light Steel’s aluminum base plate thickness requirements. Additionally, weld width can be precisely controlled between 1.5mm and 5.5mm, ensuring weld seam sealing performance meets standards and resolving the customer’s long-standing sealing challenges.
The KPS-LHW2000 also features an advanced automatic wire feeding system supporting automatic switching between single and dual wire feeding, further enhancing welding stability and efficiency. The equipment incorporates a full copper tube water-cooling system with 5.2kW cooling capacity, enabling 24/7 continuous operation to meet customer production demands. Its compact design measures 0.46m x 0.49m x 0.735m and weighs 83kg, featuring swivel casters and a 10-meter fiber optic cable for flexible adaptation to different workstations in the workshop. To ensure welding process stability, the equipment incorporates a GW anti-high-reflection chip laser and Schneider electrical control system.

Customer Feedback
Following implementation, Xian’an Light Steel highly commended the KPS-LHW2000 aluminum laser welding machine performance. The equipment demonstrated exceptional precision in weld width control, completely resolving sealing deficiencies and effectively ensuring low-temperature insulation performance for refrigerated truck aluminum floor panels. Post-welding secondary grinding became unnecessary, significantly boosting production efficiency.
However, Xian’an Light Steel also provided improvement suggestions, primarily focused on enhancing on-site operator training and accelerating after-sales response times to further safeguard production continuity. In response to this feedback, Kempson has developed corresponding optimization plans, including intensifying specialized operator training and improving after-sales service response speeds to better support the customer’s production needs.
